EXHIBITION
The Sheffield Tree Project celebrated the history of Sheffield's community forest with an exhibit at the Stone Store from May 19 to June 10, 2007. We thank all of you who participated.
Arbor Day Celebration 2007
The celebration took place on Saturday, April 28th on the village green in Ashley Falls featuring the planting of a Princeton Elm.
Community Plantings, 2006
STP enjoyed a record turnout for our annual planting day on November 4th, 2006. STP members enjoyed help from kids and grownups as we planted Sycamore, Tulip, Sugar Maple, and American elms in various locations, including at the Sheffield Grange and the American Legion Hall. Another planting followed on November 9th at the school, where area pros turned out to supervise plantings all over the SBRSD Arboretum!
Arbor Day Celebration 2006
On April 29th, the Sheffield Tree Project celebrated Arbor Day 2006 with the planting of a disease-resistant 'Princeton' American elm tree on Pine Knoll behind the Bushnell Sage Library in Sheffield. The tree was dedicated to the memory of Dana Bartholomew, a great tree enthusiast and STP supporter who died in late 2005.
SBRSD Arboretum Arborist Day 2006
On March 7th, STP and area tree companies descended upon the Mt. Everett and Undermountain campuses (campi?) to remove hazardous trees and prune various others. Professional arborists from Barrett Tree Service, Race Mtn. Tree Services and Webster Ingersoll climbed, craned, chipped and chopped to the delight of kids, faculty and staff. Arborist Day 2007 is planned for March 1st. Please contact STP if you would like to participate!
